Tories widen poll lead to 5%

12 April 2012

Opposition leader David Cameron goes into Christmas with signs that the Tories are beginning to recover their lead in the opinion polls, according to a new survey.

The ComRes poll for The Independent - which last month showed the Conservative lead had been cut to just one point - gave the party a five-point advantage over Labour.

ComRes telephoned 1,000 adults between December 19 and 21.
