Starbucks lovers have reason to celebrate as the coffee chain has unveiled a new line of what it says are delicious drinks and food for 2024.

From January 4, people looking for a wintry pick-me-up can grab themselves an Almond Biscotti Oat Latte and Iced Almond Biscotti Oat Latte.

The new selection of hot and cold drinks includes a blend of biscotti biscuits and almonds and costs £4.30 for a tall order.

If biscotti isn't your thing, Starbucks will offer a Golden Caramel White Hot Chocolate for £4.35. This drink features caramel-infused white chocolate sauce and whipped cream.

Alongside its new winter drinks, Starbucks is also releasing a collection of new snacks for those looking for a quick bite. This includes healthy breakfast options such as fruity overnight oats, as well as sweet treats such as biscotti cookies.

Starbucks is the world's largest coffeehouse chain. Initially launched in the United States, it's now a global phenomenon with 32,000 stores in 80 countries worldwide.

Starbucks first arrived in the UK in 1998 when it opened a branch on King's Road in London. It has since opened multiple branches across the country.

This year, the chain opened its 20,000th store outside North America in Oldham, UK. This coincided with Starbucks' 25th anniversary in the region.

To mark its 25th anniversary of serving coffee drinkers in the UK, Starbucks launched a popular cold brew — The Starbucks Clotted Cream Fudge Cold Brew — in September 2023. This focused on some iconic British flavours.

Starbucks also added many other festive treats to its menus to mark the Christmas season. In December, on the menu were Toffee Nut Latte, Eggnog Latte, Caramel Waffle Latte as well as a Hazelnut Crunch Hot Chocolate. The brand also revealed its Festive Feast Panini and the Holiday Ham Sub Roll.

On December 6, the chain also offered a free festive drink to NHS staff in what has become an annual tradition of thanking healthcare workers.

As well as celebrating 25 years in the UK, business leaders at Starbucks have also signalled that there's more room for growth across the country.

Reports earlier this year suggested that executives hoped to open a further 100 stores after it “maintained strong, double-digit growth". This came despite the chain also facing boycotts and protests in recent months over its stance on worker unionisations and the Israel-Gaza conflict.

“Looking ahead, we are fully invested in the UK and giving back to the local communities we serve each day,” said Alex Rayner, vice president and general manager at Starbucks UK.
