12 April 2012

A teenager is due to appear in court charged with the murder of a shop manager killed in a robbery.

Jamie Simpson, 33, was stabbed in the neck as he cashed up at the Matalan store in Hackney, east London, on March 22 last year.

Anthony Maina, 19, will appear at Highbury Corner Magistrates' Court in north London accused of murder and conspiracy to rob.

Two other men, Simeon Jumah, 24, and Roy Williams, 30, will also appear in court charged with conspiracy to rob.

Police were still questioning a 17-year-old and a 19-year-old arrested over the murder at the Kingsland shopping centre.

Seven other people arrested in connection with the incident since May last year have been released on bail.
