Have you ever fancied eating spaghetti with your fried chicken? No, us neither but millions around the world enjoy chowing down on this very meal every day.

Jollibee, Asia's biggest home grown fast food chain, is set to open its first UK branch next month, bringing with it the joys of corned beef with rice and hotdog sandwiches.

The chain is famous for its eclectic menu and has a huge and devoted following across Asia.

Jollibee is huge in Asia - in fact, it is larger than McDonald's in the Philippines.

The chain started as an ice cream parlour in Manila in 1975 and now there are around 1,300 Jollibee restaurants around the world - and roughly half of those are in the Philippines.

What's on the menu?

The menu features an eclectic mix of US and Asian influenced dishes. These include its signature spaghetti with red sauce and slices of hotdog sausage and ground beef, which can be served with fried chicken.

Other items include its trademark fried chicken, known as Chickenjoy, with a beef patty, mushroom gravy and rice.

Its chicken is said to be crunchier and spicier than Western fried chicken, while its burgers are called 'Yumburgers'.

More meals include a Yumburger served with mushroom gravy, rice and spaghetti with hotdogs, while you can also get a burger and sauce with chips, rice and an egg.

If you really want to push the boat out, the 'Chickenjoy with burger steak and half spaghetti' also comes with rice and a drink.

For breakfast you can grab yourself a bacon and egg pancake sandwich, or corned beef with garlic rice and egg.

Sides include mashed potato and gravy and creamy macaroni soup.

Where is Jollibee opening in London?

The chain opens its first UK branch in a former Wagamama outlet in Earl's Court on October 20.

Earl's Court was chosen for the first UK site as it has historically been home to London’s biggest Filipino community.

Around 200,000 Filipinos live in London and the opening is seen as so culturally significant that it is expected to be attended by the Philippines ambassador.

More stores are expected to be opened around London and outside the capital.

A glitzy social media campaign on Facebook and Instagram featuring the brand’s trademark “jolly” red bee mascot and aimed primarily at London’s estimated 200,000 strong Filipino community launches tomorrow.

Prices have not yet been revealed but are expected to be in line with those in US branches where chicken with rice costs $5.89 (£4.43) and chicken with spaghetti is $6.29 (£4.73).
