This year has seen the deaths of some of the world's most treasured stars.

In a year like no other we have lost well-loved celebrities including international pop stars, TV stalwarts and iconic actors.

January had only just begun when we heard of the death of music legend David Bowie, who had kept his cancer hidden from the public eye.

The sad news of well-loved stars' deaths continued throughout the year, with international icons including Prince, Muhammad Ali and Leonard Cohen passing away.

Brits lost a whole host of stars made famous in the world of TV, from national gem Sir Terry Wogan to the man who masterminded Coronation Street, Tony Warren.
