Four more arrests in Regis probe

12 April 2012

Police have made four more arrests in connection with the murder of teenager Adam Regis.

One man aged 19, two aged 18, and a male youth of 16 were held at two addresses in Plaistow, east London, at 10.50pm on Thursday, Scotland Yard has said.

Adam, the 15-year-old nephew of Olympic sprinter John Regis, was stabbed to death in Plaistow last month.

Adam was found fatally wounded not far from West Ham United's football ground in Upton Park, east London, on March 17.

He was attacked while walking home after a night at the cinema.

He was discovered at the junction of Boundary Road and Kingsland Road, at about 9.30pm, and died later at Newham General Hospital.

A post-mortem examination found he died of a single stab wound to the chest.

The wound travelled through his right arm, into his chest and nicked the aorta of his heart.

A male youth aged 17, and four more men, two aged 20, one 19, and one 18, are on police bail in the inquiry.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the incident room on 020 8345 3775, or Crimestoppers anonymously 0800 555111.
