Dolly Parton has joked she has three weaknesses in life - men, sex and food.

The 74-year-old singer appears on the latest episode of Table Manners, presented by popstar Jessie Ware and her mother, Lennie.

On the podcast, which now has 20 million listeners, the Jolene singer is asked about her love of food.

Parton replies: “My weaknesses have always been men, sex and food and not necessarily in that order.”

Parton, who has been married to husband Carl Thomas Dean since 1966, also spoke about the love of her husband - but admitted marriage has its challenges.

“My husband and I have been together for 57 years and married for 54, and I’m sick of him and I’m sure he’s sick of me.”

In 2014, Parton made her Glastonbury Festival debut on the Pyramid stage. Thousands watched her perform on the Sunday night - and she pulled in bigger crowds than headliners Arcade Fire and Metallica.

But the 9 to 5 singer said she was apprehensive about the festival, because she wasn’t sure if she would “fit in”.

Parton, who recently donated $1 million to coronavirus vaccine research, said: “I love the UK and when we did the Glastonbury show, I felt so loved too. So it was really a special show.”

She added: “I was kind of nervous about doing the show. I was kind of apprehensive. I knew it was a festival that was very famous and I knew everybody loved to party, loved their drinks, whatever. I was like: ‘They’re not going to pay attention cause my stuff is so many stories.’ I didn’t know if I would fit in [...] and when I went out there, and I did, it just made me feel so happy and good.”

Parton, who made her debut with the 1967 album Hello, I’m Dolly, spoke about her love of touring - saying she has “really missed” being on the road during the pandemic.

“I love to travel,” she said. “I really miss touring. I spend a lot of time on my bus and I take a lot of the things I like with me, the things I like to eat. In the dressing room they usually just put fruits and crackers, cheeses, water, I don’t drink sparkling water if I’m singing, I have flat water. I have teas, coffees, I like potato chips, there’s always an ask for those kind of junky things.

“But when we do tour we have a caterer who usually prepares a dinner for us after our rehearsal. We have everything we need and what we don’t have there, I have on my bus.”

Parton has recently released a Christmas album - A Holly Dolly Christmas.

Speaking about the festive period, she said: “I love Christmas. Don’t everybody? I think it’s probably my favourite time of the year. I enjoy all of it. Christmas is just so much about the trees, the glitter, the glamour, the presents, the streets being all decorated and getting the chance to party and just sing and to eat too much and not feel too bad about it.”
