At least 20 cars plunged through the collapsed roof of a car showroom in Milton Keynes.

Firefighters said the Audi vehicles fell into the workshop area of a dealership after a 20x30 metre section of roof caved in.

The building had been cleared of people before the incident and nobody was hurt, Bucks and Milton Keynes fire brigade said.

A spokesman said: "Firefighters assisted with scene safety following a partial roof collapse at Milton Keynes Audi, Northfield.

"About 20 vehicles fell through to the workshop. The services were isolated and the building was left with the occupier."

Jardine Motors Group runs the dealership and said it was investigating the incident.

It said in a statement: "Part of the roof of Milton Keynes Audi, covering the workshop area, collapsed at mid-day on 1st June 2015 and the building has been evacuated. Nobody has been injured and we are currently investigating the cause of the collapse and the extent of the damage.

"We have enacted our Business Continuity Plan, including the support of the Audi dealership team, to ensure that we can provide a suitable service level to all customers as soon as possible. All customers directly affected by this incident will be contacted in person."
