Cameron: We are not complacent

David Cameron, still on the campaign trail, denies Tory complacency over election victory
12 April 2012

The Tories have "everything left to do" to secure victory on Thursday, David Cameron said as he revealed plans for a marathon through-the-night final push in his election campaign.

The party leader, who has claimed to have the "momentum" ahead of the crunch poll, insisted there was not "an ounce of complacency" as he pushed to win over more undecided voters.

With less than 72 hours to go until polling stations open, the election is still poised on a knife edge, with opinion polls consistently pointing to a hung parliament.

Speaking in his hotel in Blackpool, where the party needs to take both seats from Labour, he said: "We've still got everything left to do.

"We are going to be campaigning incredibly hard in the last three days, including a 24-hour campaign from Tuesday night right through to Wednesday night, travelling the whole length and breadth of the country.

"There is still a huge amount to do. There has never been an ounce of complacency in my body and there isn't now and there is everything left to do."
