Spectators attending the Boat Race this weekend are facing rain despite an increase in temperatures.

The Met Office said that if wet weather does hit London on Sunday, it is most likely between noon and 3pm.

The women’s Boat Race along the Thames starts at 2.13pm, while the men’s is at 3.10pm.

Forecaster Alex Burkill told the Standard: “Sunday will be changeable. It will be cloudy for a good chunk of the day, with a risk of a few showers. Some could be on the heavy side.

“They won’t be regular so it will be a largely dry day – but from noon until 3pm is the most likely time for showers.

“Temperatures will be a little warmer than Saturday, with highs of 16C.”

“Temperatures will be a touch above average, with highs of around 13C or 14C. It will be bright most of the day.”

Elsewhere in the UK on Saturday, the Met Office said there will be a low cloud in the north-east, which will become more extensive over Scotland and north-east England.

It added: “It will be brighter elsewhere, with the best of the sunshine in the south-west.”
