Amanda Holden has paid tribute to her “gorgeous little boy” Theo on what would’ve been his 10th birthday.

The Britain’s Got Talent judge marked her late son’s birthday with a post on Instagram, sharing an image of an inking of his footprints.

“Theo ..our gorgeous little boy ...You would have been 10 years old today…” she wrote.

“Not a day goes by without thinking of you.”

Friends of the star shared their support, including Vicky Pattison and Myleene Klass who commented on the post: “Oh Mandy. Thinking of you and Theo.”

In 2011, Ms Holden was seven months pregnant when a routine scan revealed Theo’s heart had stopped.

The Heart FM presenter and her husband Chris Hughes then made the decision to have a caesarean following his passing.

During an appearance on BBC’s Dear NHS Superstars programme last year, she said giving birth to her son via C-section was "beyond horrific because, at the end, a little baby who has nothing wrong with him apart from being asleep is going to come out.”

"I kept saying, 'I can't hold a dead baby', I was absolutely terrified,” she added. “Just as the baby was going to come out my husband Chris had to leave the room, he couldn't bear it.”

She then told of how she held her “absolutely gorgeous” son “even though he was fast asleep.”

The 49-year-old also opened up about her loss during an appearance on Loose Women last year, as she gave advice to other people in a similar situation to her.

“It's so difficult because everyone reacts in different ways - because my loss was a baby that never made it to earth I had to find a spiritual way around it,” she said.

“I had to create a scenario in my head that my baby chose me in my head but he was never meant to come down.”

She continued: “I was blessed with my daughter Hollie who came soon after.

“It's a cliche but you can only take one day at a time - it's what you can learn from it, gather everyone around you. I hung on very tight to Chris and my family.'

Ms Holden married Mr Hughes in 2008 and they are also parents to daughters Alexa, 15, and Hollie, nine, who was born one year after Theo’s death.
