Scooting enthusiasts launch alternative London Tube map for commuters

Scooting: The map shows the time it would take to scoot between each station

The smartly-dressed businessman or woman scooting along the pavements of the city has become an all-too-familiar site for many Londoners.

And the alternative commuting method could be about to become more popular as scooting enthusiasts have released a specially-designed alternative London Tube map.

Two months after Transport for London launched its ‘Walk the Tube’ map – in a bid to encourage Londoners to spend more time out on foot – scooter company Micro Scooter has created its own version.

The Scoot London Tube Map shares the familiar design of the TfL Underground map but details the amount of time it would take to scoot between each station.

And its designers think it could be the answer to commuters’ problems as well an effective way to keep fit.

A spokesman said: “Scooting to work can not only help avoid those tube strikes and delays but, research shows, it can also burn a few calories with 30 minutes of scooting burning up to 150 calories.”

He added that they are “convenient, fun, easy and free” as well as being “portable and simple to store”.
