Eight Brixton locations that should feature in Watch Dogs 3

When Watch Dogs 2 arrived last year, its carefully-crafted recreation of San Francisco was packed with detail – and now we might know which city might be next in the sequel.

According to beady-eyed fans, a new ending for the previous game brings up a set of co-ordinates that refer to a surprising location: Brixton.

Yes, not just London, but specifically Brixton. Huh.

While the setting for the next Watch Dogs is by no means confirmed, it wouldn’t be the first time Ubisoft recreated our fair city after taking on the Victorian era London in Assassin’s Creed Syndicate.

If Watch Dogs 3 is set in Brixton after all, here are eight locations that absolutely must be in the game.

The David Bowie mural

The painting of Aladdin Sane-era Bowie across from Brixton tube was always a destination for the Starman’s fans, but even more so after his death last January.

You’ll need to be able to visit it in Watch Dogs 3, and a radio station playing solely Bowie songs would be the icing on the cake.

LIDL on Acre Lane

Let’s face it, if you live in the surrounding areas of Brixton, this is where you end up every few weeks for 'the big shop'.

What will you find in the middle aisle of random things? Who knows. But where better for your character to pick up some delightfully-named knock-off brands and obscure why-is-this-even-here bargains.

Brixton’s Picturehouse cinema is one of the best in the city, and if Watch Dogs 3 wants to be authentic you’ll need to be able to sign up for a membership and try not to fall asleep in one of those ludicrously comfy chairs.

You might have to work a few missions first though – it’s lovely in there, but like all London cinemas it’s not cheap.

There’s no point recreating Brixton if you can’t go to the original Honest Burger in Brixton Village or the first Franco Manca on Market Row across the road.

For extra authenticity, there should be absolutely nowhere for your character to sit, and you won't be able to make reservations so you'll turn up at 6pm and hang around for a while staring at your phone.

The worst ever Sainsburys

Google StreetView

No, not the big Sainsburys on the corner – the little one next to the tube station which is probably the worst-designed supermarket of all time. The aisles are too small, the queues are a nightmare, and you can't take a step without bumping into someone.

Watch Dogs 2 included an element of shopping for accessories – how about queuing for 20 minutes to pick up something for tea?

10 video games we're excited for in 2017

Dogstar

Daniel Lynch

If we’re talking Brixton as it exists in 2017, Watch Dogs 3 needs plenty of hipster-friendly pubs and bars for you to frequent – surely including Dogstar on Coldharbour Lane, the Effra Social at the bottom of Effra Road, and Duke of Edinburgh on Ferndale Road.

Maybe you could hire the upstairs room for a world-fusion-slash-early-00s-hip-hop-with-a-David-Rodigan-vibe independent club night.

Foxtons

Watch Dogs has always had a ‘stick it to the man’ attitude – and in London ‘the man’ could be perfectly embodied by the world's real-life villains: estate agents.

Prepare to feel some serious catharsis as you hack a double decker to steer right into Foxtons, your own personal petty victory for all those ludicrous fees.

Morleys

Google StreetView

Look, you can’t recreate Brixton without Morleys, the iconic department store that’s been standing for over 100 years. Sure, it’s no way near as flashy as Liberty or Selfridges, but its not without its own modest charms.

Bonus: Infernos

Google StreetView

Ubisoft’s open worlds are getting bigger with every game – and while Brixton is sizeable, DLC packs could include extra map areas like Clapham, Herne Hill and Camberwell.

Come on, imagine being able to go to Infernos in one of the biggest game franchises in the world – you could even bump into a digitally-rendered Margot Robbie in there.
