In a night of high drama, the election in London has seen Labour capture seats from the Conservatives, while the Lib Dems have managed a resurgence.

Labour’s most notable victories have seen them taking the key Tory marginals of Battersea, Croydon Central and Enfield Southgate.

In south west London, the night has ushered in the return of Lib Dem veterans Sir Vince Cable and Sir Ed Davey.

For the Tories, Justine Greening managed to hold on to Putney, but saw her majority slashed to 1,554.
