Donald Trump urged supporters to "go out and vote" in the US presidential election - but told them the wrong date on which to do so.

The controversial Republican candidate told fans, during a campaign event last night, to “get out and vote on November 28”.

Americans will actually go to the polls 20 days earlier on November 8.

Mr Trump added: “Nothing like this has ever happened before.”

Earlier in the day, the billionaire businessman declared himself “free from the shackles” of his own party in the wake of row over his comments about groping women.
