Waldegraves go back on the foodie run

8 July 2013

The Waldegraves are branching out — again. Caroline Waldegrave, co-founder with Prue Leith of Leith’s School of Food and Wine in west London and author of several foodie books, is starting a new cookery school in the Mendip Hills in Somerset.

Students will be invited to spend a week at Dudwell Field Farm, the Waldegrave family home, learning to cook for pleasure.

“You will acquire this essential life skill and have fun at the same time,” says Caroline, wife of former Cabinet minister William, now provost of Eton.

“The course is designed for guests with little cookery experience and for those who need to refresh their cooking skills …

“The plan is that we cook in the morning, eat the lunch we have made, enjoy the afternoon relaxing and then cook supper from 4.30pm or thereabouts.”
