It may not rank with Truman Capote’s Black and White Ball but next week’s Halloween Ball in aid of Syrian children promises to be a humdinger. The first Unicef UK ball is being co-hosted by Jemima Khan and fellow Unicef ambassadors Claudia Schiffer, Sir Roger Moore, Cat Deeley, Trudie Styler and Robbie Williams, who will be doing a set at One Mayfair.

“I hate fancy dress but as it’s Halloween the committee insisted,” Jemima Khan tells me. “I want to go as Ewan McGregor’s Siamese twin but he’s not up for it.”
