Russell Crowe’s Noah is a psychopath

As Russell Crowe’s Noah hits cinemas, the British Museum’s Dr Irving Finkel is overseeing the construction of a round ark — a giant coracle — after discovering instructions on a 4,000-year-old tablet. Hollywood beckoned, with 12 film offers, but Finkel has declined. “We’re brought up at the museum to turn down stardom,” he said.

Nevertheless, he’s somewhat dismissive of Russell Crowe’s portrayal of Noah, which he described as “psychopathic”. When told that the Archbishop of Canterbury had called the movie “thought-provoking”, he spluttered in horror, “The Archbishop has given it a plug?”
