Perfect improvisation from Peter Polycarpou

14 May 2014

It was the press night for The Pajama Game at the Shaftesbury Theatre last night, and almost everything went without a hitch. One scene sees a knife-throwing act, made safe by mechanisms which pop identical props out of the target as the actor pockets the originals.

It seems that something jammed, however, as the second knife failed to emerge following the throw. “Why, look at that,” actor Peter Polycarpou ad-libbed. “It went straight through!”

Five stars for improvisation.
