"A woman was treated for back pain and was taken to the Princess Royal University Hospital.

"A man suffered a chest injury and was taken to the Princess Royal University Hospital.

"A third patient, a woman, suffered neck, back and head injuries. She was taken to King's College Hospital as a priority."

The incident caused severe congestion in the Bromley area after Masons Hill was closed southbound, resulting in a number of buses on diversion. The road re-opened again at 6.15pm.

Alex James Brown wrote on Twitter: “This traffic is crazy - no one bother going into Bromley as there's been a massive crash.”

The incident follows two accidents this week involving police cars, with a police van flipping on its side in Barnet and another vehicle crashing in Bermondsey.
