'We are approaching St Patrick's International': Southeastern gives station Irish-themed new name

A major commuter hub in central London has been renamed to celebrate St Patrick’s Day.

Southeastern Railway altered the name of St Pancras International to St Patrick’s International on display boards across the capital on Friday.

The funny name swap sparked delight among commuters who took to social media to discuss the joke.

Ciaran Cooper wrote on Twitter: “Why am I so amused that @Se_Railway have changed St Pancras International to St Patrick's international.”

Lisa O’Carroll added: “On my way to St Patrick's International (Aka St Pancras)! Oh you clever marketing people.Happy Paddy's Day.”

Chrystal Dynes said: “The folks at my station have changed @StPancrasInt to #StPatrickIntl on the boards. #StPatricksDayFun.”

While Twitter used Abby branded the name change “banterous”.

St Patrick’s Day falls on March 17 every year and marks the date of the death of the patron saint of Ireland.
