Two men are in hospital after one fell from the upper floor of a shopping centre and landed on the other, Scotland Yard said tonight.

Emergency teams were called to Westfield Stratford City in east London shortly after 3.30pm to reports that the man had fallen on a pedestrian walking beneath.

Both are in a hospital with serious injuries and no arrests have been made.

A spokeswoman for London Ambulance Service said two ambulances, two responders in cars and a member of staff from the air ambulance had attended.

The man who fell suffered leg and pelvic injuries and the second who was hit suffered head injuries and had back and side pain.

Both were taken to the Royal London Hospital in east London.
