Nine-year-old schoolgirl badly hurt in road crash in Brentford

A nine-year-old girl has been seriously injured fter being hit by a car in west London.

Police were called to Kew Bridge Road, Brentford, at 4.30pm to the collision involving a Peugeot 206 and the pedestrian.

She was taken by ambulance to a central London hospital for treatment to a leg injury.

Police initially said the injury was "life-changing" but have now said it is not that serious.

Buses have been placed on diversion and road closures put in place around Kew Bridge Road and Green Dragon Lane while police investigate.

Drivers are advised to avoid the area where possible as long delays are expected.

No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.
