Motorcyclist hospitalised after crash with lorry in east London

A motorcyclist has been taken to hospital with pelvic injuries after colliding with a lorry in east London.

Police and the London Ambulance Service were called to the scene at the junction of Hackney Road and Garner Street, Hackney, at 8.50am this morning.

The 35-year-old biker was been taken to the Royal London Hospital as a priority.

A spokesman for the LAS said: “We sent a single responder by car and an ambulance crew to the scene."

Shocked witnesses have been posting messages on Twitter.

Sofia said: “Serious traffic accident on Hackney Road. Poor souls involved.”

Syd Scarborough posted: “Hackney Road does not look good at all. Hoping that I did not see what I think I saw.”

Traffic was diverted eastbound down Warner Place onto Bethnal Green Road.
