Leyton crash: Nine-year-old girl fighting for life after being hit by car in east London

A nine-year-old girl is fighting for life in hospital after being hit by a car in east London.

Detectives are appealing for witnesses following the collision in Leyton, just after 2pm on Monday.

The child was struck by a Toyota Aygo on Manor Road, police said.

She was rushed to hospital by ambulance where her condition has been described as “critical”.

The driver of the Toyota stopped at the scene and there have not been any arrests.

Detectives from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit at Chadwell Heath have launched an investigation into the incident.

Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to call police on 020 8597 4874.
