Police made a tidy £218,000 profit today after a seized Lamborghini was auctioned off when the owner failed to come forward to claim it.

Met officers pulled over the motorist when they spotted him driving the orange Lamborghini Aventador without a front plate. The driver also had no insurance.

When the owner failed to provide the correct paperwork, the £350,000 supercar was put up for sale at Manheim’s in Colchester.
