Farnborough crash: Pedestrian killed by lorry in south London

A pedestrian has been killed after being hit by a lorry in a south London suburb.

The crash victim was pronounced dead at the scene this morning following the crash in Hilda Vale Road, Farnborough.

Emergency services were called to the accident close to Farnborough Common just before 10.30am.

No details have been given about the pedestrian's identity.

A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said: "Officers attended and found a lorry in collision with a pedestrian.

"The pedestrian suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene."

Officers remain at the scene and no arrests have been made, police said.

Extensive road closures are in place and drivers have been warned to avoid the area.

Anyone who witnessed the collision should call police on 101 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
