A cyclist is in hospital with 'serious head injuries' after being hit by a car in Shoreditch last night.
Police were alerted to the crash, which happened in Hackney Road, just before 11pm. Paramedics treated the cyclist and took him to a north London hospital, where he is in a "serious but stable" condition, they said.
No one has been arrested over the smash at the junction with Shoreditch High Street.
Simon Wisdom, who was travelling through the area in the hours following the collision, told the Standard he "didn't see what happened, but police said the cyclist suffered serious head injuries".

Josephine O'Neill tweeted that there were "police everywhere", adding someone had been "hurt badly".
