A teenager was rescued after he tweeted for help when he he ran out of toilet paper on board a train.

Adam Greenwood was travelling from London Euston to Glasgow last month and to his horror realised there was no loo roll inside the cubicle.

The 16-year-old decided to tweet the conundrum to his followers and copied the Virgin Trains Twitter account into the message.

Twitter exchange: Virgin Trains came to help the teen out

To his surprise Virgin Trains responded and asked the teenager which carriage he was in, to which he replied coach J.

A Virgin employee with the initials MW reassured Adam with the message: “We'll send someone down to you.”

Within minutes there was a knock at the door and a train worker handed a new loo roll to the red-faced teenager for “finishing the job he had started”.

Adam sent another message to the train company to say thank you and said he would be using the company again in a few days time.

Virgin responded: “Maybe bring some loo roll, just in case.”
