A woman reportedly assaulted multiple Tube passengers at Southwark Underground Station using her handbag.

The woman entered the central London station between 9.45am and 10am, when she “caused facial injuries to multiple women by swinging her handbag around”, said police.

British Transport Police (BTP) on Wednesday issued a photo of a woman they want to trace following the assault, which happened on April 2.

“Officers believe the woman in the image may have information that could help their investigation,” said a BTP spokesperson.

Anyone with information is asked to contact BTP by texting 61016, or by calling 0800 40 50 40 quoting reference number 2400042028.

Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
