Footage has been released showing a brave shopkeeper fending off a gang of men armed with crowbars - using just a stick.

CCTV made public by police shows four men approaching the convenience store in Salford.

Three wait outside and begin attacking the windows with crowbars while a fourth man, armed with a hammer, bursts into the shop.

But immediately the would-be robber is confronted by an angry shopkeeper wielding a stick, who darts out from the behind the counter before chasing the assailant out the store.
