Two teenage boys were arrested after allegedly being found with an 18-inch sword in Hackney.

Police said the pair, aged 14 and 15, were held after being stopped in Wetherell Road near Victoria Park in the early hours of this morning.

After inspecting the surrounding area, officers found the terrifying weapon in nearby Lauriston Road.

The teenagers were arrested under the suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon and taken to a police station in East London.
