Thirty firefighters are tackling a blaze close to an Overground station in Shoreditch.

Two tonnes of rubbish erupted in flames under a disused railway arch, close to Shoreditch High Street station, the London Fire Brigade said.

The blaze is also near to the Boxpark shopping centre and a Powerleague football pitch.

Five fire crews are attempting to douse the flames after being sent to the scene shortly after 2pm.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, LFB said.
