Police are hunting four men after Manchester United's team bus was attacked as West Ham's final game at Upton Park was marred by violence.

Riot police had to be called in on Tuesday night to deal with chaotic scenes as the rival team’s bus tried to make its way to the ground.

Smoke bombs and flares were also thrown during the disorder, which delayed kick-off by 45 minutes and led to three arrests.

West Ham said anyone found to have been involved in disorder ahead of the game would face a life ban.

And Scotland Yard today released CCTV images of the men they want to speak to in connection with the attack on Manchester United’s team bus.

Commander BJ Harrington of the Met's Public Order team said: "Behaviour of the kind we saw before Tuesday's match is totally unacceptable.

“The vast majority of people were well-behaved, but we are looking to deal with a small minority of individuals who committed criminal acts.

"We are working closely with both clubs to bring these individuals to justice, and I would urge anyone who recognises the men in these pictures to contact police.

"This was always going to be a challenging match to police, with passions running high.

"Aware of those challenges, we had more officers on duty than is normal."

Police said two men, aged 18 and 47, arrested on suspicion of pitch incursion have been bailed until late May.

A 20-year-old man arrested on suspicion of affray has been bailed until August.

Anyone with any information should contact the Public Order investigation team on 020 7275 4569 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or at crimestoppers-uk.org.
