Two men were taken to hospital after a fight outside a bookshop in Britain’s busiest station.

Police launched an appeal for witnesses after the brawl at Waterloo on Saturday evening.

Detectives said the fight broke out outside the Foyles bookshop at about 8.45pm. Two men have since been arrested.

DC Rachel Smith, of the British Transport Police, said: “Two men got into a fight after which they both required hospital treatment for their injuries.

“We need to speak to anyone who saw what happened to build a clear picture of events surrounding this incident.

“The fight took place outside Foyles and we know several people saw what happened.

“Please get in touch if you have any information.”

A 28-year-old man from Buckinghamshire was held on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and a 46-year-old man from Norfolk was arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm. Both men were bailed until January 21.
