A man has been left seriously injured after he was “brutally” stabbed in south-west London.

Emergency services found the victim, aged 42, with multiple stab wounds after they were called to the scene on Georgia Road, New Malden, just after 5pm on Thursday.

He was rushed to a south London hospital where he continues to receive treatment for his injuries, the Metropolitan Police said.

His condition is not life-threatening.

Detectives are now urging anyone who witnessed the incident or who noticed anything suspicious in the area at the time to come forward.

Detective Constable Jake Smalley, investigating, said: “This was a brutal attack which has left the victim hospitalised, with a long road to recovery.

“I believe there are witnesses to this incident who may be able to assist with our enquiries and help us to identify who is responsible. I would urge them to get in touch.

“If you saw any suspicious activity in the area that evening, or have any information regarding the attack, please come forward and tell us.”

There have been no arrests. Investigations continue.

Anyone with information is asked to call 101 or tweet @MetCC, quoting CAD4963/21JAN21.
