The families of people still missing after the terror attack in London today launched desperate searches to establish their whereabouts.

The search for missing loved-ones continues as 16-year-old Asya Mustafa, who was not heard from in the hours following the attack, was found safe, her family revealed.

Asya was reportedly walking home through Borough Market when attackers armed with knives and “a machete” struck, stabbing revellers after ploughing into pedestrians on London Bridge.

Seven people were confirmed dead by Metropolitan Police Commissioner Cressida Dick on Sunday morning with a further 48 injured in hospital.

Asya’s aunt Tijen Mustafa said the teenager’s phone was lost as she fled from attackers sparking a panicked search.

She told the Standard: "Asya was caught up in (the attack) and her phone lost whilst police made people run away from the area.

“It has been so emotional and worrying. We are so glad to hear she is safe.”

Kiwi Oliver Dowling was seriously injured in the attack

Asya’s family thanked all those who shared an appeal to find the youngster on social media.

Her aunt added: “Thank you all for your shares likes posts and concerns. It means so much to us.”

Friends searching for a journalist who was reportedly stabbed in the attack confirmed around 7am that he had been located in an intensive care unit.
