A man who calmly walked away from the terror attack on the capital with his pint still in hand has been praised online for showing true London resilience.

As footage played out of crowds fleeing the London Bridge atrocity, the man was captured in a Sky News clip still clutching his drink.

He was seen walking slowly down the road, seemingly trying not to spill his beer, while a woman strolled beside him also with a glass in hand.

The photo was shared thousands of times online, with people using black humour to show defiance in the face of the terror threat.

One person wrote on Twitter: “People flee a terrorist attack LIKE LONDONERS.”

Douglas Lloyd wrote: “Man flees #LondonBridge terror attack without spilling his pint. Strangely inspiring.”

Another wrote: “Bystanders fleeing London Bridge incident. Guy on right running with his pint. Nerves of steel. I wouldn't be the calm.”

Andrew Brooks tweeted: “Evacuate? Well, OK. But this beer cost £6 a pint. I'm taking it with me.”

Another said: "Our British humour helps us cope with tragedy - a contributing reason why I love my country."

Seven people died in the latest terror attack on British soil, as three knife-wielding attackers used a van to run people down on London Bridge.

They then began stabbing people at random with 12-inch blades at Borough Market, reportedly shouting "this is for Allah".

All three were shot dead by armed police, within eight minutes of the first emergency call.

On Sunday morning, Theresa May said changes needed to be made to the way the UK took on terrorism.
