A man and a woman have been found dead at an east London home after police went to investigate reports of an injury.

Officers were called to a house in The Drive, Ilford, at 12.57pm today, to reports of an “injured person” at the address.

Officers, paramedics and an air ambulance rushed to the scene where they found the bodies of a man and a woman.

The pair were declared dead at the scene.

Police are now working to establish their identities.

No arrests have yet been made but a crime scene is in place with a "large police presence", according to witnesses.

A spokeswoman for the London Ambulance Service confirmed paramedics were called to "reports of an incident" at the residential address just after 1pm.

"We sent two ambulance crews, three medics in cars, a medic on a motorbike and an incident response officer to the scene," she said.

"Sadly, two people were pronounced dead at the scene."

Police enquiries continue.
