A young man suspected of stabbing a teenage boy to death in north London has been arrested in Bognor Regis.

The man, believed to be 20, was arrested at the seaside resort in Sussex on Monday by the Met’s murder investigation unit.

He was detained on suspicion of murdering 17-year-old Vasilaki Kakko one week ago.

Vasilaki was found with knife wounds in Yoke Close, Holloway, at about 8.50pm on Monday, November 23, and was pronounced dead at the scene about 30 minutes later.

He died just a few hundred yards from where Ben Kinsella was fatally stabbed in North Road in 2008.

He became the 14th teenager to be knifed to death in London this year.

Speaking last week at the family home in Canonbury, his brother Bruno Kakko, 25, told the Standard the former St Mary Magdalene Academy student was a “lovely, nice guy who was always happy and smiley”.

“We just can’t get our heads round it at the moment,” he said.

“We have no idea who would target him.”

Police continue to appeal for information.

Anyone who can help the investigation is asked to call the Met's incident room on 020 8721 4961 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or at crimestoppers-uk.org.
