Horror as three people left injured following shooting, stabbing in Barking

Two people have been shot and a man stabbed after a horror incident in Barking on Monday morning.

Officers were called to Hertford Road at 4am morning following reports of gunfire and found a man, in his 20s, suffering from stab wounds. He was taken to hospital where his condition is not believed to be life-threatening.

Officers were later alerted to reports of a man and woman who had attended an east London hospital with gunshot wounds.

The man, aged in his 30s, had sustained an injury to his leg which is not life-threatening.

The woman had sustained minor injuries consistent with grazing from a bullet.

Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances. At this stage, it is believed that all three people sustained their injuries on Hertford Road where a police cordon remains in place.
