Police are hunting for a white moped rider over a suspected arson attempt at Finsbury Park mosque.

The hooded man is alleged to have tried to set fire to the religious building in north London at about 10am this morning.

Officers were called to the scene after he was seen "acting suspiciously" in St Thomas's Road but he fled on a moped before they arrived, Scotland Yard said.
