A motorcyclist is fighting for his life in hospital after being knocked down in a ‘hit and run’ horror crash by a van in central London.
Police were called at around 7.40pm to reports of a collision between a van and a motorbike to Edgware Road.
The motorcyclist was rushed to hospital in an ambulance in a “life-threatening” condition.
Edgware Road has been closed northbound near the junction with Penfold Place with police officers remaining on the scene through the evening.
A Met police spokesman confirmed that the van failed to stop at the scene following the collision.
They said: “Police were called by the London Ambulance Service (LAS) on Thursday, 5 January at around 19:40 hours to a report of a collision between a van and a motorcycle at Edgware Road junction with Penfold Place, NW1.
