This is the first picture of the latest murder victim on the streets of London.

Osvaldo Carvalho, 22, was stabbed to death close to Ealing Common in west London on Tuesday evening.

It is believed Mr Carvalho and two friends got into an altercation with another group of men in Twyford Crescent Gardens.

Mr Carvalho and his friends ran away, but he was chased and stabbed. He was pronounced dead at the scene in West Lodge Avenue.

One person was initially arrested on suspicion of affray, but has since been released from custody and will face no further action.

No other arrests have been made, and Det Ch Insp Noel McHugh said on Wednesday evening: “A young man has tragically lost his life and another family has been left grieving.

"The death of this man will no doubt impact all those who knew him, his family, friends and also the wider community in the area where this attack took place.

“We need those who have information to come forward now. Their information could prove vital to securing justice for the victim’s family.

“My team are busy at the crime scene and forensic analysis and review of local CCTV footage continues apace.”

Anyone with information is asked to call 101, using reference CAD5954 of September 24, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.

Mr Carvalho, from Hanwell, was killed just hours after Tashan Daniel, 20, was stabbed to death on the Tube in an unprovoked attack at Hillingdon station.
