The art of Marti in Turkey

Marti Istanbul
18 April 2012

The 270-room Marti Istanbul, opening in the Taksim district of Istanbul this summer, will be designed by award-winning Zeynep Fadillioglu, the first woman in Turkey to design and build a mosque — the contemporary Sakirin Mosque.

Naturally, art will play a major part in the interior of the Marti, with promises of four other properties on the Turquoise Coast, of a projected installation featuring running water and artwork from Kutlug Atama, a Turkish Carnegie-prize winner.

An Ottoman tent will be at the centre of the atrium, with hand-painted designs lining the walls. Requisite hammams and saunas will characterise the spa while suite guests will have access to the Spa VIP Suite designed in the style of an Ottoman Palace.
