Blending big-city buzz with an undeniably relaxed, outdoorsy West Coast vibe - the locals are some of the friendliest you’ll ever encounter - there’s a multitude of reasons as to why Vancouver always tops ‘best city in the world’ lists.

Wide boulevards stretch across the city from shore to inlet, dissecting busy shopping districts, vibey downtown restaurants and glinting skyscrapers, while the crumpled mountain ranges on the North Shore are set on fire with the evening sun.

One of the best compliments I’ve heard about Vancouver is how easy it is to leave it - and not to do its lively, compact, metropolis a disservice, but it’s those breath-taking vistas, glimpsed from every street corner, that will stay with you longest after you’ve departed the Great White North’s West Coast.

This year marks Canada's 150th anniverary, so what better time to make this West Coast gem more than simply a stopping point on your way up to the Rockies.
