The look: Whitewashed walls and exposed brickwork warmed by brass, copper and zinc accents. The seating is a focal point. Leather banquets are matched with grey fabric bar stools and Scandi style salmon chairs to create a chic concept.

A striking staircase has been brought into the design, forming a smart link between floors, while an original 19th Century marble fireplace makes a statement.

Do look down at the warm wooden floor or admire the low hanging lights which create a cosy ambience. Don't leave without visiting the bathroom, where the wallpaper creates an unexpectedly glamorous space.

Who's behind it? Husband and wife duo Greg and Marie Marchand who run a popular restaurant of the same name in Paris. The two-floor London outpost is styled by former set designer Emilie Bonaventure, a key member of the Frenchie family. Smart restaurant manager David Durban heads up a tight-knit team whose rapport enhances the atmosphere.

What should I try? There are some real treats on this menu. The chanterelle, Keen’s Cheddar and wild garlic gnocchi is a delicious starter.

Cornish monkfish is a must for main and a Yorkshire rhubarb makes for a mouth-watering dessert.

There is also a great cocktail and wine list. The super friendly staff, including a bright young young sommelier, will happily pair courses.
