Bottletop is starting a movement. The sustainable British accessories brand is working to bring awareness to the 17 Global Goals formulated by the UN in 2015 through a partnership with the UN Foundation, WWF, Project Everyone, Eco Age, Global Citizen and the Founding Partner UBS. These groups created the #TOGETHERBAND campaign, which launches today in celebration of Earth Day. The 17 goals that this campaign promotes are meant to protect the earth and foster prosperity by 2030.

"BOTTLETOP has designed a sustainable, unisex #TOGETHERBAND friendship bracelet for people to learn about the Goals and play an active role in spreading the word,” says Richard Curtis of Project Everyone. "They are fashionable and, so importantly, give livelihoods to the women who make them."

The 17 Global Goals include no poverty, zero hunger, gender equality, climate action, clean water and sanitation and life on land. The #TOGETHERBAND campaign will last 17 months, focusing on one goal each month until the UN General Assembly in September 2020, which marks ten years before the 2030 target. Bottletop will host live events to launch each goal and there will be 17 different colored bands for each focus goal.

One hundred percent of the proceeds from the bands will go towards clearing the oceans of plastic and projects to further the Goals. In addition, with each band you buy, you get one to give to a friend, and you're encouraged to share the bands on social media with #TOGETHERBAND.

“Through #TOGETHERBAND we are thrilled to combine artisanal craftsmanship with the immediacy and reach of social media to facilitate a cross cultural conversation around the Global Goals as we engage everyone who wants to come together for a healthy future,” says co-founder Cameron Saul.

There will be 17 documentaries, one for each individual goal, as well as ambassadors promoting each one. To start, model Doutzen Kroes, actress and producer Michelle Yeoh and WWF Conservation Director Professor Catherine Ndegwa will help promote goal 15 of Life on Land.

This Earth Day, expect to see lots of colorful bands on Instagram as #TOGETHERBAND begins its journey towards making the Global Goals into global action.
