Orsolya Szabo on waxing and Christmas jumpers
6 December 2013

I need a kitsch jumper for Save the Children Christmas Jumper Day next Friday. Help!

I applaud you on three counts: firstly, for not asking for a tasteful Christmas jumper (because, much like the abominable snowman, it doesn’t exist); secondly, for not asking what the abominable snowman actually is; and lastly, and this should probably have been the first, for taking part in such a worthy cause. It’s simple and genius: donate £1, wear a jumper. I suggest embracing it with one of the appealing woollies from British Christmas Jumpers. I’m going for ‘Christmas in Paris’ (above). Joyful.

£30, British Christmas Jumpers (britishchristmasjumpers.com)

FOUR

Lots of great things come in fours. Quadruplets, car wheels… as I can’t think of any more, I’ll concentrate on the one you should know about — Four the salon. It’s famed for hair, but also home to waxing angel Nadiya Bekar, the most painless administrator of hot beeswax known to woman.
