The Lido Cafe

As well as mulled wine, there’s a whole raft of hot cocktails on offer (from £5.50). Try mulled cider, hot buttered rum, Hunter’s Flask (a hot toddy) or Hot Roots, made with Kamm & Sons ginseng spirit (so surely good for your winter immune system). The café looks out over Brockwell Lido, so you can watch the mad/brave swimmers.

Forza Win(ter)

Another long-running pop-up from the Forza team, Forza Win(ter) is indoors this time — in an old pickle factory. The team is serving a four-course menu for £35, which includes wood-roasted porchetta from the Ginger Pig butcher and a hot cocktail such as mulled port and pomegranate or spiced beer.

Best for families

The Rye

A big and recently nicely renovated pub right on the edge of the vast and lovely Peckham Rye Park. There’s a roaring fire in the front bar and a big, bustling dining room at the back, and it’s a great spot for weekend family lunches. Traditional mulled cider is available, just right for warming up after a bracing walk.
